Vinted Members Share Anger Regarding Sizing Changes
Shoppers are voicing their frustration due to a modification that led to items being listed as the wrong size.
The popular resale platform has updated its measurement guidelines for female and kids' apparel but did not contact all users about the change.
Online Platforms Backlash
Many shoppers and sellers are expressing on platforms saying Vinted listings now show a modified sizing category versus the original listing because of the remapping.
The company said the revised method more closely matches comparable marketplaces.
The platform has recommended to examine their items and update the measurements by hand where appropriate, resulting in member annoyance.
Measurement Approach Changes
Before the change, the sizing featured a single numeric size and a letter, such as S/8 or M/10.
The updated approach includes an alphabetical indicator and numerical range such as S/UK 8-10.
With some products, the measurements have been reclassified - such as a large size was formerly size 12 but now shows as UK 16-18.

A fashion influencer, who produces content about larger sizing, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".
"Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," which is what Vinted now does.
Stephanie Gallen, from Glasgow, stated items she posted featuring size 14 markings were showing in the marketplace as larger sizing 20-22.
"If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they may become frustrated," she explained.
Necessary Adjustments
Another shopper, based in Derby, said she had been left angered due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizes on "every single listing".
"For me this is particularly frustrating, since I have chronic health issues and Vinted sales have been crucial after experiencing income reduction," she stated.
Platform Context
The service features exceeding 100 million users, comprising 18 million UK members.
It has become a favored option to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop.
This is not the initial instance when a surprising modification to the app has proved unpopular: previously, Vinted reversed a change concerning shipment methods due to shopper criticism.
