The combatants are exulting in a mass killing that relief organizations fear killed more than thousands of individuals in the Sudanese urban center of al-Fashir last month.
A Community Cut Off from the World
After maintaining the community under blockade for nearly 24 months, from the summer the militia advanced to reinforce its dominance and restrict the remaining inhabitants.
Space-based imagery reveal that troops commenced to construct a massive sand wall - a elevated sand barrier - encircling the perimeter of el-Fasher, sealing off entry points and preventing aid.

Regardless of the social media campaign being deployed by the RSF, their actions in al-Fashir have generated international condemnation.
