An Australian man who vaulted over a barricade and reached for actress Ariana Grande has been expelled and banned from Singapore.

The individual, twenty-six, was handed a penalty to nine days in detention for being a public nuisance and has now been "banned from entering the country again," the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority stated to Singaporean press.

The man shoved beyond security and approached aggressively the celebrity, who was attending the regional launch for the musical adaptation on the thirteenth of November. Co-star Cynthia Erivo pulled him back from Grande.

Wen has a history of interrupting performances and star-studded occasions, including jumping on stage at a Katy Perry performance in Sydney in the past June.

The incident caused anger in Singapore, with numerous people saying he of re-traumatising Grande.

The singer has mentioned suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after a terrorist bombing at her show in Manchester in spring of 2017 killed 22 individuals and injured hundreds.

During Wen's trial, the court heard he had attempted to intrude on the red carpet event on two occasions, according to local news sources.

He then made a follow-up try to breach security. Security staff stopped him and held him in place.

The man subsequently shared recordings expressing gratitude to the star for allowing his presence and said he was "at liberty."

Police arrested him the next day and charged him with causing a disturbance, to which he confessed.

The Presiding Judge the magistrate was quoted by media reports as remarking that the man sought attention, adding that he was mistaken to believe he would not experience repercussions.

The actress has not spoken about the situation.

The co-star discussed the incident to the press, saying that she "just wanted to verify my colleague was protected."

"I'm sure he had no intention to us danger, but you can't predict with these incidents, and I sought to confirm that she was alright. That was my immediate response," she stated.
