Just as the recent storm swept through the northwest the prior day, Manchester City blew United aside at the their home ground. It was a convincing three goal triumph for their manager's side thanks to goals from Knaak, Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a performance that firmly established their title credentials as they consolidated their standing at the league summit.

Back-to-Back Losses for Manchester United

This scoreline signalled successive Women's Super League setbacks for the United manager's side for the initial occasion since May 2024, placing them a significant margin off the top team with their championship aspirations in serious doubt.
