Jurgen Klopp admits coming back to coach Liverpool is conceivable.

The German coach, who left Liverpool in 2024, has suggested that returning someday remains an option. Klopp, following a hugely successful near-decade reign that included Champions League success and ending the club's long wait since 1990, currently occupies positions in a global football capacity within the Red Bull organization and as an advisor for the DFL.

Fan Sentiment and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

The club claimed England's top flight last season, but many fans holding him in high esteem would be thrilled by the notion of his potential comeback. During an extensive chat, he explained to Steven Bartlett: “I said I refuse to lead another team on English soil. Therefore in case it's my former club...yeah. It's plausible.”

“I’m 58, so I might decide down the line, it's uncertain. Do I have to make the decision today? Then I will not coach again. But thank God, it's not necessary. I'll wait and observe how things unfold.”

What Would Lure Him Back?

When asked about what circumstances would have to unfold to draw him back to the dugout, he confessed he feels no immediate pull toward coming back. “It's unclear to me, My present work fulfills me,” he stated. “I don’t miss coaching; No desire to be under bad weather for two-and-a-half or three hours; I don’t miss going to media briefings multiple times weekly or doing numerous chats weekly.

“I don’t miss the dressing room in that context, but sitting in a restaurant alongside the squad talking freely, I appreciate that. We won a lot of games so there was often positive atmosphere in the building. I can still hear the captain's chuckle ringing in my ears for example.”

Praise for His Successor

He spoke highly regarding Arne Slot, crediting him due to the changes that won the league in the previous season. They've been defeated four in a row across various tournaments post heavy investment, yet he dismissed the notion of it representing a slump.

“[Liverpool have] a top-class attacker in Flo[rian] Wirtz, critics will regret with negative comments. A remarkable prospect. [Hugo] Ekitike, incredible player. This is a well-built thoughtfully assembled roster. Fans shouldn't fret regarding the Reds, they will be fine.”

Emotional Tribute for Diogo Jota

He shared movingly regarding the passing of Jota, a 2020 acquisition in 2020, and its impact on Liverpool. Jota died tragically in a vehicle collision together with his sibling recently.

“Can you substitute a person like him? It goes beyond the player himself, it’s the guy he was. I can’t imagine the squad absent his presence. I still cannot speak properly on this topic. A profound tragedy for the entire squad too. Not a single person might employ it to justify results though it's a fact. You walk in a dressing room where his spirit remains. Dealing with that on a personal level is not easy. Impossible.”
